'Impossible Deals', Dubai Shopping Festival

Selling out the planet's biggest retail event.

Context

Visa has been an official partner of the Dubai Shopping Festival for over 20 years.

 

For the 2016 edition, we wanted to give people a shopping experience that lived up to Dubai's superlative-heavy reputation of impossible.

Idea

 

While the competition was giving away raffle prizes, we gave away Impossible Deals.

 

We created excitement with 32 days of thumb-stopping deals - from movie tickets all the way up to luxury cars, all at eye-popping, jaw-dropping prices.

Results & Impact

We got twice as many signups than forecasted, thousands of people laying seige to our website and even breaking Uber in the process.

Our campaign content was viewed by 17 million people.

The campaign also helped Visa increase its bank partnerships by 115%, with over 140 happy issuers.

'Impossible Deals' proved to be so successful, that it ran for the next two years.

Awards

Visa's 'Impossible Deals' was awarded at the MENA Effies and MENA Digital Awards.

 

Multiple wins in Integrated and Shopper Marketing saw BBDO named Agency Of The Year at the MENA Digital Awards.
